Why is the app's number different from my estimate?
The engine applies the full rule set your spreadsheet may miss.
The engine applies the complete regulation: default mark-ups, the CBAM phase-in factor for the year, precursor emissions and any carbon-price deduction. A hand estimate usually misses one of these. The engine figure is the one that matches your official submission.
Forecasting shows a demo portfolio — is that my data?
No. Click Import my plants to load your real figures.
Forecasting opens on a demo portfolio (badged amber) that uses official default values only, so you can explore immediately. Click Import my plants / suppliers to load your Balance Twin and supplier figures, then enter the tonnes you import.
A field turned amber — did I do something wrong?
It's a 'please confirm', not an error.
Amber means the value sits outside the expected range for your route, so the app asks you to double-check it. It's advisory: if the value is genuinely correct, keep it and move on. The app never overwrites your number.
